September 2018 - Orchard Surgery is engaging in a pilot scheme providing Improved Access for patients to a range of Healthcare Professionals. We have appointments on weekday mornings (before 8am) weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) and at selected times at weekends. Please contact our reception team for more details.
Important information regarding referrals
Most referrals are sent via the NHS e-referral service. Patients wishing to find out information about waiting times and appointments should contact the NHS e-referral service direct on 0345 60 88 88 8. There are sometimes lengthy waiting times for patients to be seen following referral by the GP. There may be occasions where the wait is medically unacceptable, for example your condition may be deteriorating or new symptoms have appeared and if this is the case we would ask that you contact the Receptionist and ask if the GP can expedite your referral. Please DO NOT make an appointment with the GP for this purpose. The hospital Consultants, according to their workload, make decisions on how a patient’s appointment should be prioritised and it is not always possible to override this, particularly if there is no clinic availability.
SystmOnline allows you to book and cancel appointments or order your medication 24hours a day. SystmOnline also allows you to view your summary care record and access your medical records. Please speak to reception for more details.
PLEASE NOTE - before we can give access to Online Services we will require you to come to the surgery with photo identity documents.
Each patient has a named GP who is responsible for patients’ overall care at the Practice, and you should contact the Practice if you wish to know who this is. If you have a preference as to which GP that is, the Practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request.

We also provide the following facilities
- Provide an automated daily upload of any changes to a patient’s summary information to the Summary Care Record (SCR). Summary information (ie. core SCR) includes medications, allergies and adverse reactions. Patient implied consent is required.
- GP2GP record transfer (allowing the swift transfer of medical records if you change surgeries)
There is limited parking available for patients whilst attending the surgery.Please do not park your car in the Surgery car park if you are not attending an appointment.
Please do not leave your car in the car park after your appointment has finished, as other patients will need your parking space.
Access for the Disabled
The surgery has been built to allow access for the disabled through the front entrance. All consulting rooms and the waiting area are built on the one level and can accommodate a wheelchair
