Salaried GP
Fantastic opportunity to join a well organised and innovative practice as a salaried GP. We are a busy practice in the centre of the vibrant market town of Dereham (recently featured in Escape to Country!), close to main road links to Norwich and King’s Lynn as well as easy access to the countryside, Norfolk Broads and beautiful North Norfolk Coast. Orchard Surgery has experienced a tremendous amount of positive change over the past 12 month’s including achieving a “Good” CQC rating recently across all areas and a total Management restructure. As a result we have improved processes throughout the practice including patient access and navigation, long term conditions management, and processing of admin/tasks/letters/pathology. We are in a modern purpose-built building but are also in the process of having a refurbishment with additional clinical rooms and improved facilities for our patients and staff, so very exciting times ahead.
We are looking for someone who wants to develop in their role with support of the practice and colleagues, and who wants to provide a caring and professional service to our varied 11,000 patient base. The role offers flexible working options of 4-6 sessions per week and the opportunity is open to newly qualified and experienced GPs. This is an excellent opportunity to build a portfolio career as we are looking to broaden the services available to our patients including minor ops, joint injections, spirometry and sexual health. We are always open to new ideas and are often trying new initiatives to best serve our patients.
We use the standard BMA contract and pay indemnity, with 40 days holiday entitlement per annum (pro-Rata, including bank holidays) salary is competitive and also dependant on experience.
Our practice currently has 3 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs and a large team of both clinical and clerical colleagues including Clinical Pharmacists, Nurse Practitioners , Social Prescribers, Physio, Wellbeing Coach and a full Nursing team including Practice Nurses, TNA and HCAs . Due to such a multidisciplinary team we have a morning “huddle” as well as regular safeguarding, clinical and governance meetings where knowledge is shared, everyone can have their say and staff are kept up to date with any changes in the practice. We have a great team ethos and are welcoming, caring and friendly. The GPs try to meet for coffee during the day and we enjoy socials and team building events outside of work and recognise the importance of a good work/life balance.
